I just watched The Departed which was a total bring down. But also a fantastic film. It sucked me into a darkness. A little on the long side though. But dang! So good. And so depressing at the same time.
I wonder if you have seen infernal affairs... (The movie that the departed metamorphosed from.) In my humble opinion that was an incredible experience of a film to watch for the first time. At least I thought so when I did, with no expectations.
