Shooting pays off

In the words of Dr Nick;
Hi Everybody!
and also Dr Hubert Farnsworth;
Good News Everyone!
In due course of some random encounters and some luck, I will now have one of my photos printed on a CD back-cover! Pretty sweet. It's a debut CD by a Swedish Bluegrass band called The Hillfillies, and I had never heard them or heard of them until a guy from the Rockridge Brothers whom I shot during my visit to sthlm for a gig by my friend Lars Ekengren contacted me. He did the layout for their cover, and liked one of my photos so asked if they could use it. Naturally I replied in the affirmative.
The CD will be out soon, it's called Just Passing Through and can be bought from their website.

"There's nothing more boring than a rock'n'roll star. Someone who has been on the road for 10 years, expecting attention wherever he goes, drinking himself stupid, who is obnoxious, incoherent, uncreative, and has a massive ego. There's nothing more pointless."

I just watched The Departed which was a total bring down. But also a fantastic film. It sucked me into a darkness. A little on the long side though. But dang! So good. And so depressing at the same time.

Borlänge Peace and Love

Seems like a good festival on the 28-30th of june.
Is no one I know going? I'd love some company. Actually, without company I'll only go for a one-day stop. Let me know if you're interested!

Weekend

Weekend

I guess I should have things to write about regarding the weekend, but I'm not sure that I do.

Saturday was eventful. First I went to the 50th anniversary of the Norrlands Nations Lördagsfika, to perform my duties as Nation appointed photographer. And of course to munch on all sorts of delicious treats. It was a nice affair, particularly since it was outdoors and the weather was impeccable; sunny, blue skies and warm. I hung out there for a while, shooting and talking to my girl and some of my norrlands acquaintances. Pictures will be up soon.
Then I had just about enough time to go home and relax a while before going to participate in my Girls graduation ceremony in the prestigious Old University building. Although it was a parade of nurses in summer dresses, the whole ceremony was a bit of a drag. I sat in a back row, trying to get one or two stable shots of my girl but failing miserably. Anyway, she got her diploma, speeches were made and then we went on to the real party at the Girl's house. Good food, wine, presents (well, not for me, for Her) and nice people. So we spent a few hours there just blabbing and eating. And then suddenly it was late and we were both very tired.

Then sunday we took a small daytrip to Öregrund to see some friends. It was like entering another world, coming out to a cabin by the ocean. Even though we were only there a few hours we did have time for variuos (in-)activities such as sunbathing, swimming (1st for the year!), playing boule..
Then sunday evening I watched Transamerica with a friend. It was a great movie and I revealed my generally critical viewpoint by giving the greatest of compliments: "It didn't dissapoint me in any way". Usually, I tend to say things like "It was great, but...". No, transamerica may have shown a few butts but there were no buts. Simply a well-acted, well-written, well-filmed cute and funny story of the unusual kind.
