5 cl of rum

~2 cl of lime juice

top up with cracked ice and Ginger Beer (I used Fentimans)

Club Sandwich

…with curry mayonnaise and home made fries. The sandwich is with lettuce, red onion, tomato, avocado and halloumi. I the background my trusty Godfather.

Ave, Caesar

Just made our first Caesar (-ish) Salad and I did a take on the Caesar Dressing with dried tomatoes instead of anchovies in the dressing:

1/2 clove of garlic

1 1/2 teaspoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice

1 dl finely grated Grana Padano

3 pieces dried tomato

pinch of salt

1 egg yolk

1/2-3/4 dl rapeseed oil

Mixed everything finely with a hand mixer, then slowly added oil while mixing ferociously. Turned out fantastic!

Gimlet

Gimlet.

This weeks cocktail is a new one to me that I thought I’d try. And frankly, I’m a bit disappointed. I found it hard to balance the sour and the sweet, and the result was not to my taste.

The recipe I used (from punchdrink.com):

6 cl of Gin

2+ cl of Lime juice

2+ cl of syrup

(I ended up adding a little more syrup but that didn’t help. It may be I chose the wrong [cheap] gin…)

Sidecar

A beast of a cocktail and one of my absolute favourites. Sidecar.
5-6 cl of Cognac
2 cl Cointreau
2 cl Lemon juice
Shake with ice and serve in a chilled, sugar rimmed glass.
